I think that it’s good to teach maths by letting them do the math on their own.
For example, if we go shopping and my daughter sees a toy she likes, I let her calculate how much money she has in her pocket, then she can decide if she wants to buy it or not.
Sometimes we go to play in the park, and if she wants a toy there, I let her calculate how much time it would take for her to earn that amount of money by playing at the park (or doing anything else – drawing, dancing etc).
